Build, secure, and optimize the Azure cloud powering Kitron’s global growth!

We are now seeking a skilled and strategic Azure Architect to take a key role in the governance, optimization, and security of our Azure cloud environment. This position sits at the intersection of DevOps, Security, and FinOps, ensuring that our cloud infrastructure remains available, secure, compliant, cost-effective, and scalable. You will work closely with engineering, finance, and security teams across the organization and be strongly supported by Kitron’s internal IT team as well as top experts from our IT partners—covering architecture, design, projects, day-to-day operations, and incident resolution. The position will report to the IT Manager at Kitron ASA.

Role Overview

As Azure Architect, you are responsible for the governance, optimization, and security of Kitron’s Azure environments. You act as a bridge between DevOps, Security, and FinOps, ensuring best practices are implemented and continuously improved across the cloud platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Govern and maintain Azure Landing Zones, management groups, and cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on:
    • Zero Trust architecture
    • High availability
    • Disaster recovery
    • Immutable backup solutions
  • Govern Microsoft Entra ID (IAM), enforce governance policies, and automate user and access management
  • Collaborate closely with IFS Cloud and DevOps teams to optimize operations and deployment processes
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Integrate security into the development lifecycle (shift-left), monitor threats, and support compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, GDPR and NIST
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives and promote cost awareness and accountability across the organization (FinOps)
  • Lead or participate in IT projects and cloud technology pilots

Authority & Decision-Making

  • Escalate and coordinate incident response when required
  • Assign and coordinate tasks to resolve incidents efficiently

Qualifications & Experience

  • Norwegian citizenship (required due to security clearance)
  • Solid IT background, with proven experience in Azure architecture
  • Strong competence in Azure governance, security, and cost management
  • Experience with IaC tools is preferred, such as Terraform, Bicep and ARM 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders effectively
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Tools & Technologies

You will work with modern cloud and security technologies, including:

  • Azure DevOps
  • Azure Pipelines
  • Kubernetes
  • Microsoft Defender for Cloud
  • Azure Arc

Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305); additional certifications such as AZ-500 and FinOps Practitioner are a plus.
