COSL Drilling Europe, a safe and efficient drilling contractor dedicated to delivering on the energy transition with its cutting-edge, low-emission drilling rigs, is currently seeking skilled and motivated Offshore Installation Manager to join our team.

By 2025, our ambition is to provide climate-neutral drilling services and set a new market standard.

Our rig portfolio has a proven track record of having the most efficient and best performing rigs in the North Sea, with Energy Control Systems already delivering substantial CO2 and NOx reductions. The rigs are compact, with low PoB and operated by a highly competent and experienced team. We are certified with the ISO 14001 Environmental Management standard and the ISO 50001 Energy Management System standard and continuously invest in technology and competence that reduce emissions and bring long-term value creations for our customers and society.

The OIM`s tasks and responsibilities are, but not limited to, following:

  • Perform active leadership and keep an overall focus on HR tasks in close cooperation with Section Leaders.
  • Actively involve him/ herself in HR tasks that include, but are not limited to: appraisal interviews, sick leave follow-up, general personnel collaboration and keeping a close dialog with shore based management about the same.
  • Implement the safety and environmental-protection policy of CDE and motivate crew in observation of same.
  • Verify that specified requirements are observed and periodically review the safety management system and reporting its deficiencies to shore-based management.
  • Plan and execute all rig moves.
  • Familiarization with structural conditions of MODU and ensure that structural loads during anchoring or towing operations do not exceed limit for permissible loads on MODU.
  • Ensure that required certificates for MODU are valid at all time and that the requirements of classification society are complied with.


Suitable applicants should ideally have:

  • Experience from similar position
  • Fit to work offshore
  • Advanced Safety Training - STCW
  • Helicopter Evacuation (HUET)
  • Deck Officer Certificate class 1
  • DP Certificate unlimited
  • ISPS Ship Security Officer 
  • Offshore Medical Certificate
  • Offshore Medical Certificate for marine officers
  • Basic Working Environment (40hrs)
  • GDPR Awareness
  • ISM introduction 
  • MTO Incident Investigation (Ulykkesgransking)
  • Norwegian Rules & Regulations/RVK
  • IWCF L2 - Certificate Team Member (rep every 5. year)
  • Chemical Handling - basic knowledge 
  • Crisis Management
  • Low Radioactive Deposits
  • Module 10 Maneuvering Simulator
  • Module 7 Stability & Ballast
  • Module 9 Maritime Operations
  • Radiation Protection Coordinator

COSL Drilling Europe was established in 2005, and has its head office located in Stavanger, Norway. Today we operate four modern drilling units. We have a solid owner with stable ratings in China Oilfield Services Limited, listed at the Shanghai Stock Exchange, with ambitions to strengthen its foothold in the North Sea. Our four semi-submersible drilling rigs were delivered from the yard respectively in November 2010 (COSLPioneer), November 2011 (COSLInnovator), May 2012 (COSLPromoter) and November 2014 (COSLProspector). The first drilling operations started in Norway in August 2011 and COSL Drilling Europe has since then been in continuous operation drilling and completing wells in Norway, UK, Faroe Islands and New Zealand. The drilling units are of a similar design and have all proven strong and consistent performance deliveries. Our rig portfolio has a proven track record of having the most efficient and best-performing rigs in the North Sea. COSL is setting a new standard in the North Sea with its energy efficiency. Our ambition is to deliver carbon neutral drilling operations within 2025.
